The Marketing & Business Development Manager develops and oversees all marketing and business development activities for folding carton board business in Europe. He supports actively coated board Line of Business (LOB) Manager in development of strategic agenda for the region and works across local organization in execution of sales plan and achievement of desired sales results. He cooperates also on cross-cutting issues with Americas and Asia/Pacific LOBs and marketing managers in order to maintain existing as well as generate new business in line with the general sales and business strategy of the company.
Job responsibilities:
Lead development of strategic marketing plan for business, including understanding of market/customer requirements, competitive environment, MeadWestvaco aspiration and value, and product/market/service strategy.
Monitor market trends and determine strategic implications.
Work across organization to drive execution and achievement of volume/profit goals.
Lead segmentation of board market. Define participation strategy, identifying not only where we should compete (e.g., regions, markets, niche vs. broad), but positioning strategy/how we should compete (e.g., value play) and definition of service model ( MTO vs. MTS ).
Work with LOB manager, development business plan for assigned segment.
Drive development priorities within assigned segment.
Develop and lead end-user business development activity.
Develop and integrate into business strategy and execution thorough knowledge of value chain in assigned market, including end user requirements, channel and retail dynamics, and consumer behavior and needs.
Guide promotions strategy for the business, including marketing communications, sales collateral, trade shows for assigned segment.
Perform any other duties deemed necessary to fulfil responsibilities to the business.

Comfortable with international travel.
